Model of the Experience of Breastfeeding: Faith on Emotions or hot Cog nition

Abstract

I conducted an empirical work based on structural equation modelling with a sample of 311 mothers in order to demonstrate that breastfeeding behaviour is a widely emotional conduct. The results highlight the idea that, while the classic hierarchy of effects clearly predominates the interpretation of breastfeeding behaviour in the existing literature, I show that it is possible that there is another type of emotional model to explain this desired conduct much better. In fact, breastfeeding emotions are more important than breastfeeding cognitions. From a practical point of view, this research leads to recommendations that may serve to improve breastfeeding promotional plans
