Visibilización turística del patrimonio en el extremo norte de Tierra del Fuego (Argentina)

Abstract

El extremo septentrional de Tierra del Fuego, Antártida e Islas del Atlántico Sur es una zona periférica que posee un gran potencial de georrecursos culturales (GC) susceptibles de integrarse como nuevos productos turísticos, bajo el enfoque del Turismo de Intereses Especiales. Dado que aún no se visualiza su desarrollo, es esencial la participación de los actores locales, en tanto destinatarios de los resultados que pudieran devenir de una nueva alternativa socioeconómica. Este estudio identifica los GC que podrían incorporarse a la oferta turística y analiza, entre los actores sociales vinculados al área, las tensiones y consensos en el proceso de activación patrimonial. Los resultados muestran el reconocimiento de estos recursos como atractivos turísticos, aunque existen desafíos en su potencial implementación.
