Abstract

El avance de la Inteligencia Artificial (IA) está transformando el trabajo y la vida cotidiana. De acuerdo al Artificial Intelligence Index Report de abril de 2024, la IA ya venía superando el rendimiento humano en clasificación de imágenes, razonamiento visual y comprensión del inglés desde 2023. Esta evolución acelerada, con recientes hitos en IA generativa, plantea interrogantes cruciales sobre el futuro del trabajo y el bienestar social. Este estudio explora la relación conceptual y empírica entre trabajo y bienestar desde una perspectiva histórica, así como el vínculo de éstos con los cambios tecnológicos. Se discuten dos escenarios posibles: la sustitución masiva de empleos o la complementariedad de la IA con la fuerza laboral. Se concluye que el impacto no está predeterminado, siendo fundamentales para una transición equitativa la intervención estatal y el rol sindical.
