Abstract

La Maestría en Gestión Universitaria (MGU) fue creada en la Facultad de Ciencias Económicas y Sociales de la Universidad Nacional de Mar del Plata en 1999, por iniciativa del Dr. Roberto Vega para cubrir el déficit académico existente respecto al estudio de las organizaciones universitarias no solo en Argentina sino en América del Sur. Roberto Vega solía repetir a menudo: "en las universidades se estudia de todo, menos a conocer la universidad". Las universidades forman profesionales para resolver racional y científicamente todo tipo de problemas. Pero ellas mismas no se atienen a una racionalidad específica. La administración universitaria padece todo tipo de improvisaciones o arbitrariedades. Al mismo tiempo sufre por los recursos escasos y por el mal aprovechamiento de los mismos. La MGU surge como una respuesta a estos y otros desafíos.
