Abstract

Para conocer la evolución del Sector de la Construcción de nuestra ciudad es necesario hacer una descripción histórica del desarrollo de Mar del Plata, que por su rápido e impactante crecimiento ha tenido una relación simbiótica con esta importante industria local. A fines del siglo XIX y principios del siglo pasado, con la expansión del ferrocarril, las principales familias patricias de nuestro país llegaron a la ciudad. Deslumbradas por los paisajes, fomentaron el desarrollo de un balneario a semejanza de las ciudades costeras francesas. Estas familias contrataron arquitectos europeos de renombre, los cuales diseñaron exquisitas y refinadas villas.
