    Un estudio sobre las actividades turística y minera en la localidad, la evolución y origen de los conflictos por el uso del espacio que derivaron en nuevas argumentaciones políticas y sociales, y de cómo luego de un largo período de discusión, marchas y contramarchas se llega a redefinir el perfil económico de la ciudad con la exclusión de la actividad de las canteras suburbanas y la plena promoción del turismo, a partir de estrategias y tácticas políticas desarrolladas por sus actores principales: el gobierno municipal, el gobierno provincial, los movimientos sociales, el sindicalismo canteril y los sectores empresarios turístico y minero.
