Aplicación del enfoque monetario de balanza de pagos en Argentina, 1979-1981

Abstract

A partir de marzo de 1976, con el inicio del último gobierno de facto (1976-1983) de nuestro país, se producen profundas modificaciones en nuestra economía. En este trabajo se describe un período en particular (diciembre 1978-marzo de 1981), en el cual las políticas destinadas a la apertura de la economía, se acentuaron y profundizaron, a través de un programa anunciado el 20 de diciembre de 1978, por las autoridades económicas de la dictadura representadas por su ministro de economía, Martínez de Hoz. La magnitud de las políticas aplicadas, que tuvieron como sustento la Teoría del Enfoque Monetario de Balanza de Pagos, produjo consecuencias como el endeudamiento externo, irreversibles hasta el día de la fecha y que condicionaron el desarrollo de nuestra economía a partir de ese momento.
