Miel orgánica argentina: posibilidades de crecimiento e inserción en el mercado internacional

Abstract

La miel orgánica constituye uno de los productos que ha evolucionado más favorablemente y que ha sido, además, catalogado por los expertos del sector como uno de los que posee mayores perspectivas de exportación en Argentina. Si bien el inicio local de esta actividad es reciente, presenta un gran crecimiento. El desarrollo de esta actividad se vincula con el desempeño de Argentina tanto en el mercado de miel convencional -en el cual es el segundo productor mundial y primer exportador en el año 2004- como en el de alimentos orgánicos. Las variadas condiciones agroecológicas a lo largo de todo el territorio, la presencia de distintos tipos de abejas adaptados a diferentes ambientes, sumado al trabajo que se viene realizando en alimentos orgánicos y la modernización de la apicultura nacional indican que Argentina tiene importantes perspectivas en la producción de miel orgánica.
