携帯電話におけるスイッチング・コストの定量分析: 番号ポータビリティ制度の評価

Abstract

2006 年10 月24 日,携帯電話の番号ポータビリティ(MNP)制度が導入された.MNP 制度は消費者が携帯電話会社を変更する際に生じるコスト,つまりスイッチング・コス トを減少させ,消費者の携帯電話会社間の流動性を高めるものと考えられる.本論文で は,MNP 制度の導入に伴うスイッチング・コストの減少効果を定量的に評価すること を目的とする.分析では,携帯電話会社の選択とMNP 制度の利用の選択に関する離散 選択モデルを定式化し,ウェブアンケート調査から得られた個票データを用いて,推定 を行う.本論文での分析の結果,MNP 制度の導入により,スイッチング・コストは18% 程度減少し,携帯電話の所有者に占める携帯電話会社の変更者の割合が約2.6%増加し たことを示した.
