Abstract

AlmaLaurea, through questionnaires on the "Assessment of the university experience and future prospects" filled by the graduates, collect- among other aspects - the views expressed by the graduates on the university experience in general, on university infrastructure (classrooms, computer facilities and services library) and on relationships with the academic staff (opinions developed during the course of studies and expressed at the time of graduation). Another relevant issue of investigation related to satisfaction is the possibility of re-enrollment at university. The views expressed by the graduates on various aspects of the university experience differ according to the University (geographical area and size) and the path of university studies undertaken (type of degree course and degree subject grouping). The interest and dissemination of evaluation policies of educational processes have risen the question if the opinions expressed may be somehow influenced by the evaluating population’ characteristics. We found that, in general, the sampling variables influence evaluations to a limited extent, except for the motivational factors. Accordingly, when comparing, for instance, the degree of satisfaction with the university experience of graduates of two different study courses, it should be asked whether the two groups have similar motivation behind the choice of the study course or not.
