Abstract

This work aims at extending the individual analysis of a supply sector to another one, enabling us to examine both the bilateral relationships between supply and demand, and their influence on company mobility, using a cognitive approach of the strategic groups study. The underlying logical is such that, given the link that exists between supplier and consumer industries from a bilateral perspective, strategic groups will provide a deeper knowledge of the company mobility. The methodology applied uses a cognitive approach to collect information and identify strategic dimensions, cluster analysis is used to define strategic groups and logit models are designed to explain company mobility. As a result of the empirical application carried out in our country, the quality, design and price of a product are found to be good predictors of themigration group over time.
