Importações Agropecuárias Brasileiras: Uma Avaliação dos Produtos Líderes no Período 1989-2012

O objetivo principal deste estudo foi mapear que produtos agropecuários foram constante ou regularmente importados pelo Brasil no período 1989-2012. Cotejando-se as importações agropecuárias com as importações totais brasileiras – com base em instrumental estatístico básico –, é possível observar custo decrescente das importações agroalimentares em face das despesas totais de importações no Brasil. Ademais, observou-se grande incidência de importações para as classes dos produtos hortícolas, cereais, frutas e óleos animais ou vegetais, secundados pelas importações de leite e laticínios, bebidas e vinagres, animais vivos, carnes e miudezas, sementes e oleaginosos, preparações de hortícolas e preparações alimentícias. Continuidades do estudo incluem diversas iniciativas, entre as quais, por exemplo, efetivar levantamento equivalente em nível dos insumos empregados pelas unidades produtivas a jusante das cadeias agroindustriais. De igual modo, seria útil investigar se vale a pena o Brasil ampliar sua produção interna nos produtos em que foram constatadas importações intermitentes. The mean goal of the study was to map food products that are constant or regular in Brazilian imports during 1989-2012 periods. Analyzing Brazilian agricultural imports face to Brazilian total imports it is possible to observe a decreasing cost of food imports in terms of Brazilian imports. Moreover, the study highlights big share of specific products in Brazilian agricultural imports, that is, at first, edible vegetables and certain roots, cereals, edible fruits and nuts, and animal or vegetable fats and oils; at second, dairy products, beverages, spirits and vinegar, live animals, meat and edible meat offal, oil seeds and oleaginous fruits, preparations of vegetables, and miscellaneous edible preparations. Future questions can include, for example, similar analyses at level of agricultural inputs employed in Brazil. Moreover, it would be useful to investigate if it is worth for Brazil boost internal production in the case of non-regular imports of foods.
