Abstract

Working paper on the relationship between commercial farming and growth of a seasonal worker labour market in the agricultural sector in Mexico - briefly discusses trends (1950-1980) in urbanization, agricultural policy, agricultural production, agricultural employment, farm size, etc.; outlines the structure of the migrant worker labour market, recruitment and characteristics of the peasant farmer agricultural worker and impact on regional disparities.
