Abstract

Working paper discussing criteria and concepts for the definition of migration - reviews spatial, residence, temporal and activity criteria used in conceptualising territorial mobility, outlines mobility status categories (e.g. Permanent or temporary migrants, etc.), types of migration (e.g. Ratem streams and counter streams, chain, stage and step migration, etc.), and includes recommendations. References.
