Abstract

Working paper on poverty alleviating effects of ruralroad construction programmes in Egypt, India, Botswana and Thailand - examines the level of economic development raised through road development in rural areas, selection of the infrastructure and village accessibility, financing, planning, etc. Graphs, maps, references and statistical tables.
