Abstract

Working paper presenting an evaluation of 1980 migration policy giving legal status to irregular migrants in Australia - reviews terms and conditions, purpose, status of prohibited migrants, etc. In relation to the regularization of status programme, and considers ethnic group community attitudes, demographic aspects of applicants for amnesty, implications and lessons. Bibliography pp. 66 and 67.
