Abstract

Case study of rural development policies in Bangladesh. Considers the effects of the Swanizvar movement in Jessore, Kushtia and Rangpur districts, aimed at agrarian reform and community development through social participation and self help. Discusses the decentralization of local government, land ownership problems, and rural employment implications.
