Impacto Macro Del Aumento Del Gasto En Alimentación Óptima: El Caso De Chile

Abstract

Si bien son conocidas las consecuencias a nivel individual de los efectos positivos de una buena alimentación, no son tan conocidos los efectos a nivel agregado o macroecon´omico de un aumento del gasto en alimentación a nivel laboral. En este estudio proponemos que existe una relación simbiótica entre alimentación y productividad. El presente estudio cuantifica el impacto agregado usando para ello un modelo estándar para el análisis macroeconómico DSGE que permite identificar adecuadamente la conexión entre un aumento en el gasto en alimentación, la productividad y la evolución de las principales variables macroeconómicas de la economía Chilena. Los resultados indican que un 1 % del gasto óptimo en alimentación (20 calorías aprox.) tiene un efecto positivo de 0,1 % en la productividad acumulada en los próximos 5 años. En consecuencia, los efectos sobre el PIB son del 0,3 % en 5 años. Esto equivale a casi 6,000 millones de dólares extra para la economía y 1,100 millones extra de más presupuesto fiscal.
