Männer- und Frauenberufe in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern – geschlechtsspezifische Segregation in Berufen und Beschäftigung

Abstract

"Die Berufslandschaft in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern ist geschlechtsspezifisch geprägt. Viele handwerkliche, technische oder industrielle Berufen werden überwiegend von Männern ausgeübt, medizinische oder soziale Berufe hingegen von Frauen. Nicht nur auf Ebene der Berufe, auch für die Beschäftigungsformen zeigen sich geschlechtsspezifische Muster. Teilzeit ist nach wie vor eine Domäne der Frauen, Vollzeitbeschäftigung wird von Männern geprägt. Rund 59 Prozent aller Männer und Frauen in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern müssten ihren Beruf wechseln, um in jedem Beruf einen Frauenanteil von 51 Prozent zu erreichen. Die Reduzierung der geschlechtsspezifischen Segregation wird angesichts des Fachkräftemangels zum gleichstellungspolitischen und ökonomischen Gebot." (Autorenreferat, IAB-Doku)
