Vergleichende Analyse von Länderarbeitsmärkten : Hamburg und die Metropolregion

Abstract

Mit dem Projekt 'Vergleichende Analyse von Länderarbeitsmärkten' (VALA) untersucht das IAB die regionalen Unterschiede in der Beschäftigungsentwicklung in den deutschen Bundesländern für den Zeitraum zwischen 1993 und 2001. In der Studie werden die Einflüsse allgemeiner ökonomischer Faktoren wie des Lohnniveaus, der Branchenstruktur, der Qualifikation der Beschäftigten und der Betriebsgrößenstruktur auf die Beschäftigungsentwicklung in der Metropolregion ebenso untersucht wie die Bedeutung standortspezifischer Determinanten, d.h. bestimmter, für die Region Hamburg charakteristischer Standortbedingungen. Die Ergebnisse weisen darauf hin, dass Unterschiede in den Standortbedingungen von Kernstadt und Umland, die auch Ausdruck der räumlichen Arbeitsteilung innerhalb des Agglomerationsraums sind, einen erheblichen Einfluss auf die Beschäftigungsentwicklung und damit die Arbeitsmarktbedingungen und -disparitäten in der Region haben.
