Ostdeutschland: Determinanten der regionalen Beschäftigungsentwicklung

Abstract

Der Kurzbericht fasst Ergebnisse des ENDOR-Projekts (Entwicklung der ostdeutschen Regionen) des IAB zusammen. Darin wurden die Determinanten der Regionalentwicklung in den neuen Bundesländern mit Hilfe regional stark differenzierter Daten der Beschäftigten-, Arbeitsmarkt- und Maßnahmestatistik untersucht. Es zeigte sich, dass sich die regionalen Disparitäten innerhalb Ostdeutschlands - trotz ausgleichender Maßnahmen der Arbeitsmarktpolitik und der Investitionsförderung - in den letzten Jahren vertieft haben. Wesentlich für die regionale Entwicklung der Beschäftigung sind die Branchenstrukturen, die Stärke des "überregionalen" Sektors, der nicht für den lokalen Markt produziert, und die Qualifikation der Arbeitskräfte in einer Region. Besonders benachteiligt sind ländliche Gebiete. (IAB)
