Arbeitsmarktanalyse: Alleinerziehende Frauen haben besondere Beschäftigungsprobleme

Abstract

Anhand der Ergebnisse der Mikrozensus-Erhebung von 1997 wird die Arbeitsmarktsituation von allein erziehenden Frauen in West- und Ostdeutschland untersucht. Es wird festgestellt, dass allein erziehende Frauen öfter arbeitslos sind als Frauen mit Partner und dass sie häufiger ungünstige Arbeitsbedingungen wie Befristungen oder längere Arbeitszeiten in Kauf nehmen müssen. Ihr Einkommen beträgt im Schnitt nur 70 bis 80 Prozent des Pro-Kopf-Einkommens im Zweielternhaus. Zur Verbesserung der Situation wird vorgeschlagen, die Chancen für Weiterbildung und die Kinderbetreuungsmöglichkeiten zu verbessern. Ferner müssten die Betriebe mehr Flexibilität bei der Gestaltung von Arbeitszeiten und -orten zeigen. (IAB)
