Abstract

In zwei Kurzberichten werden die Ergebnisse der BIBB/IAB-Befragung 1998/1999 zur Arbeitsmittelverwendung vorgestellt. Im ersten Teil wird die Expansion und Verwendung von computergesteuerten Arbeitsmitteln im Zeitablauf skizziert. Außerdem wird ein Überblick über die Verbreitung von Arbeitsgeräten und Maschinen in Deutschland gegeben. Die Untersuchung bestätigt, dass sich die neuen Techniken in allen Berufs- und Arbeitsfeldern durchgesetzt haben. Nach zögerlichen Anfängen vor gut 20 Jahren kam erst in den 90er Jahren der große Durchbruch. Heute haben fast zwei Drittel der Erwerbstätigen an ihrem Arbeitsplatz mit computergesteuertem Gerät zu tun. Bereits 36 Prozent arbeiten überwiegend damit. Trotz des verstärkten Einsatzes der neuen Technologien werden herkömmliche Arbeitsmittel aber nicht verdrängt. Die neue Vielfalt in der Arbeitswelt schafft auch neue Gestaltungsspielräume zur Anreicherung von Tätigkeiten. (IAB2)
