Abstract

"Neben der Bereitstellung der Daten und der Beratung der Nutzer ist eine der wesentlichen Aufgaben des FDZ die Sicherung und Verbesserung der Datenqualität. Im Rahmen von FDZ-Methodenreporten besteht auch für Personen die nicht im FDZ arbeiten die Möglichkeit hierzu beizutragen. In diesem Zusammenhang wurden von Fitzenberger et al. (2005) Imputationsregeln zur Verbesserung der Qualität der Bildungsvariablen in der IABS 1975-1997 entwickelt. Gegenstand dieses Methodenreports ist die Umsetzung dieser Imputationsregeln für beide Versionen der IABS 1975-2001 sowie die Weiterentwicklung einer von Fitzenberger et al. eingeführten Variante. Im Folgenden wird zunächst die IAB-Beschäftigtenstichprobe, insbesondere die Bildungsvariable, näher beschrieben, danach folgt eine kurze Beschreibung des Vorgehens von Fitzenberger et al. bevor die eigene Weiterentwicklung beschrieben wird sowie die Ergebnisse vorgestellt werden."
