Iskustvo tranzicije u Hrvatskoj: Pogled iznutra

Abstract

Hrvatska je tijekom posljednjih nekoliko godina privukla pozornost svjetske javnosti zbog rata koji joj je 1991. nametnula Jugoslavenska armija, te svog kasnijeg uključenja u rat i mirovni proces u Bosni. Manje je, pak, poznata činjenica da se Hrvatska među tranzicijskim zemljama istaknula kao naročito uspješna u obaranju inflacije. Taj se uspjeh, još nevjerojatniji stoga što je postignut u razdoblju neprestane ratne opasnosti unutar Hrvatske i aktivnih ratnih djelovanja u susjednoj Bosni, održao tijekom više od četiri godine. Nadalje, Hrvatska je, poput ostalih zemalja u tranziciji, učinila velike promjene u institucijama, kao i samoj sadržini makroekonomske politike. Glavni je cilj ovog pregleda opisati gospodarsku tranziciju Hrvatske, s posebnim osvrtom na makroekonomska pitanja i novčane reforme. Njegova je namjera, također, izvući neke praktične pouke iz ovog primjera. Pregled se sastoji iz tri glavna dijela. Prvo,ukratko se opisuju makroekonomska kretanja tijekom posljednjih šest godina. Drugo, analiziraju se novčana nezavisnost i reforme financijskog sektora. Treće, izvlače se neke pouke o tranziciji utemeljene na autorovom osobnom iskustvu.
