半導体デバイスやバイオ医薬品に代表される日本のサイエンス型産業において、世界市場シェアの長期にわたる減少・停滞傾向が著しい。その主要な原因の一つは、急加速したテクノロジー・マーケットの複雑性(含むグローバル化)増大スピードに日本勢がなかなかついて行けなくなってきている点にある。本論の主要な目的は、このような問題意識に基づいて、クロック・スピードになかなかついて行けなくなってきている日本の半導体産業の様子を、High-k/Metal Gateと呼ばれる最先端の半導体プロセス技術事例に基づいて一目瞭然化することにある。オリジナリティは、聞き取り調査と異次元の可視化能力持つネットワーク分析によって一目瞭然化するための方法論の提示とそれに基づいたと分析結果である。そして、日本勢がなぜスピードについて行けなくなってきているのか?どのようにすればついていけるようになるのか?という難問解決のための糸口を模索する。
