Attityden till kärnkraften

Abstract

Denna rapport redovisar resultat från en undersökning av attityden till det svenska kärnkraftsprogrammet. Ett slumpmässigt stickprov ur databasen med personer bosatta i Sverige fick per post en enkät som tog upp ett antal aspekter på kärnkraften och på förvaring av använt kärnbränsle. Data samlades in omkring årsskiftet 2007/08. Svarsprocenten var 52 %. Resultaten tyder på att de svarande var representativa för befolkningen. Resultaten visar att det fanns en ganska positiv attityd till det svenska kärnkraftsprogrammet, vars nytta var den viktigaste komponenten i attityden. Det fanns dock en viss oro. Män var mera positiva än kvinnor, och äldre mera än yngre. Risken spelade mindre roll, men stor betydelse för policy-inställningen hade det om man ansåg att kärnkraften kunde ersättas eller ej. Emotionella reaktioner var viktiga, men allmänna värderingar spelade mindre roll för attityden till kärnkraften. Sociala aspekter tycktes spela en viktig roll: de som talade med personer som var negativt inställda tenderade att dela den attityden, och på samma sätt var det med de positivt inställda. Denna faktor kan vara en del av förklaringen till könsskillnaderna i attityderna till kärnkraften.
