Abstract

[Extrait] Le modèle TRIP (Transports Inter-Régionaux de Personnes) a pour objectif de décrire la charge des réseaux de transports de personnes (eau, fer, route) et plus précisément, la sensibilité de la charge à des actions stratégiques sur l'offre de transport. L'un des problèmes de l'élaboration de ce modèle est de définir une stratification pertinente des déplacements inter-régionaux. Dans cette optique, on pouvait songer à réaliser, au moyen d'une méthode de classification traditionnelle, une typologie reposant uniquement sur un ensemble d'indicateurs supposés, a priori, caractéristiques d'un voyage. Toutefois, une telle démarche risquait de nous conduire à une typologie très peu satisfaisante au plan des contraintes pratiques. La méthodologie adoptée tente d'intégrer, à la définition de cette typologie, des contraintes d'opérationnalité.
