Abstract

Nous construisons et calibrons un modèle de transitions simultanées sur le marché du logement et le marché de l'emploi afin d'expliquer l'écart de taux de chômage et d'urbanisation entre les immigrés d'origine africaine et le reste de la population en France. Notre cadre d'analyse permet de distinguer l'effet des préférences géographiques propres à chacun des deux groupes des difficultés d'accès des immigrés d'origine africaine aux deux marchés. Nous avançons que près de 20% du différentiel de taux de chômage entre les deux groupes est lié aux préférences géographiques et au marché du logement, contre 80% pour le marché du travail.
