Abstract

"Social Capital" describes the ability of individuals to cooperate and coordinate, as much as their capacity to contribute to common goal. In a broader sense, it also describes their desire to connect to others and to be together. This notion has been very successful in the last years, in the economics of development and in Finance. We propose a presentation of the concept and an illustration of its relevance in various fields of economic analysis.
