Abstract

Les fouilles de 2016 apportent un éclairage nouveau sur l'abbaye. Un certain nombre de sépultures en pleine-terre, notamment repérées à l'est de l'abbatiale, ont pu être datées du haut Moyen Âge. Elles laissent supposer l'existence d'un édifice religieux antérieur à l'abbaye cistercienne. La période cistercienne d'occupation du site est également représentée par la mise au jour de maçonneries au nord du transept et à l'ouest de la façade occidentale. Un possible mur de clôture de l'enclos monastique, ou du cimetière médiéval, est identifié au nord de l'abbatiale. Le XVIIIe siècle est illustré par l'observation d'un collecteur d'eau dont le tracé a pu être précisé, notamment le long du mur gouttereau nord de la nef et devant la façade occidentale. Le puits à main découvert dans l'emprise du bâtiment logistique semble relever de cette phase de travaux.
