Abstract

Online sales of second-hand goods are booming. Yet two of the biggest marketplaces in Europe use very different models to distribute their wares. Vinted shifts logistics to consumers, while Momox centralises and industrialises the process. The author shows that as volume and complexity rise, logistical capability, not platform reach, will determine who can scale reliably and reduce environmental impact.
