Abstract

The production and use of data concerns all entities involved in economic activity, whether as individual actors, decision-makers or organizers of the framework within which this activity takes place. Through their activities, individual economic entities such as companies generate data by means of accounting records (logging), which are then recovered at global (national) level by aggregation. This presentation adopts a descriptive approach, showing the links between company accounting and national accounting as regards the production and use of quantitative data.
