A Study on Advertising Readiness of Spence Signalling for Effective Monetization of Utility and Emergency Services

Abstract

Signalling can convey the type of service provider, whether it is profit or non-profit, to users, i.e., patients using the emergency services. It can aid users to effectively use the services, as well as the service providers to be more efficient in serving the users. However, nonprofit service providers may not be able to provide costs for advertising as a profit-based service provider. In this study, we explore through signalling methods whether advertising could be an effective strategy for both nonprofit and profit-based service providers of emergency health services. Further, in this study, we come to the conclusion that effective monetization and payoffs for the service provider, be it profit or non-profit, may not be through advertising of services. Thus, both types of service providers become more reliable to users, i.e., patients using the emergency services.
