Abstract

Les risques climatiques affectant la production agricole sont élevés dans les pays de l'UEMOA, comme ils le sont dans la plupart des pays du monde. Ils incluent des aléas tels que sécheresses, vagues de chaleur, inondations et tornades. Ce qui les rend une source de préoccupations particulièrement prioritaire pour l'UEMOA sont d'une part le fait qu'une fraction importante de la population de ces pays dépend directement de l'agriculture pour sa survie alors qu'elle est souvent déjà en dessous ou autour du seuil de pauvreté, et d'autre part le fait que l'incidence et l'intensité de ces chocs climatiques augmentent rapidement avec le changement climatique.
