Abstract

" L'identité et les valeurs des sapeurs-pompiers ont évolué de façon générale sous l'influence de différents facteurs. Cette évolution touche également les sapeurs-pompiers volontaires ruraux. Ainsi, les difficultés de recrutement, de disponibilité, et de pérennisation des engagements des sapeurs-pompiers volontaires, a fortiori plus prégnantes en zone rurale, rendent nécessaire de s'interroger sur leur identité et leurs valeurs pour les comprendre et y apporter des solutions. L'étude sur l'avenir du dispositif de volontariat chez les sapeurs-pompiers de Stéphane CHEVRIER et Jean-Yves DARTIGUENAVE, réalisée en 2008, a servi de base à ces travaux de recherche, et plus particulièrement le profil « villageois » qui était dominant chez les sapeurs- pompiers volontaires ruraux. Nous avons déterminé ce qui semble être le sapeur-pompier volontaire rural d'aujourd'hui, dans son identité et ses valeurs, et nous proposons une étude prospective. "
