Abstract

This article aims to identify the socioeconomic factors influencing the credit demand of agricultural households in Togo. Using data from the EHCVM 2018 survey (Harmonized Survey of Household Living Conditions, 2018), the results of binary logistic regression analysis indicate a positive and significant correlation between agricultural households' access to financial services and variables such as the household head's level of formal education, the household head's marital status, the size of the household's holding, the soil types of the household's holding, and the agricultural household's income. These variables are determinants of farm households' access to financial services. These results highlight the need to strengthen policies aimed at improving farm households' access to financial services, in particular by focusing on the aforementioned variables.
