Abstract

While the impact of air travel on climate, the environment and health is increasingly well-documented and a source of concern, the aim of this study is to take a closer look at the links between air travel and tourism. Indeed, the economic spin-offs for tourism are often put forward in airport expansion projects, without necessarily being well documented. The aim of this study is to provide an initial overview, based on academic work and available data, of two regions with significant air tourism (the Sud and Occitanie regions), and to analyze the relationship between the air and tourism sectors.
