Abstract

Since the Covid-19 pandemic, teleworking has become a lasting feature of the professional landscape, involving 26% of salaried workers in 2023. While this practice promotes autonomy, reduces commuting time, and can improve work-life balance, it is also associated—according to the scientific literature—with emerging psychosocial risks. This literature review focuses on these risks without revisiting the benefits linked to telework. It identifies three main categories: the distancing of social relationships, the intensification of work, and the challenging articulation of life domains (work-life balance). It highlights the complexity of disentangling the specific effects of telework from those related to the exceptional context of the health crisis, while also emphasizing the unequal exposure to these risks depending on professional and personal contexts.
