Abstract

Les filières fruits et légumes, particulièrement importantes dans les régions méditerranéennes, sont confrontées à deux grands enjeux : i) une exposition croissante à la concurrence internationale et aux contraintes de la grande distribution ; ii) le recours à une main d'œuvre salariée souvent embauchée sur des emplois précaires peu rémunérés. SALAGRIFEL questionne ainsi la place du salariat agricole, saisonnier et permanent, en partie d'origine étrangère, dans les exploitations de fruits et légumes dans le Sud de la France et celle des investissements de producteurs européens dans des régions du Sud de la Méditerranée : quels sont les effets régionaux, au Nord et au Sud, de ces mobilités croisées ? Un des résultats marquants du projet est que la main d'œuvre salariée est très hétérogène et que son coût n'est pas le seul déterminant des décisions d'investissement au Sud.
