Abstract

Dans le contexte de la hausse du prix du pétrole brut observée depuis cinq ans, l'objectif de cette note est d'apporter quelques lumières sur les conséquences possibles du renchérissement du baril. Nous commencerons par présenter brièvement les principaux résultats des analyses réalisées, depuis trente ans, quant à l'influence du prix de l'énergie sur l'activité économique. Nous interpréterons ensuite ces études et leurs conclusions et nous tenterons d'en tirer des enseignements concernant les effets à attendre de l'évolution récente des marchés énergétiques.
