Abstract

L'introduction de la monnaie unique européenne avec la mise en place de l'Union économique et monétaire européenne le 1er janvier 1999, pourrait avoir des implications significatives pour le fonctionnement de la politique agricole commune (PAC) et pour le secteur agroalimentaire en général. Ce rapport examine les conséquences économiques de l'euro pour les secteurs agricole et agroalimentaire. Il développe de façon succincte l'argumentation économique des principaux coûts et avantages de l'Union monétaire ; il évoque les changements dans le système agri-monétaire et il analyse les incidences sur le revenu et les prix agricoles, l'économie rurale et les flux d'échanges intra et inter Union européenne.
