Abstract

L'éloignement géographique entre banques et PME est susceptible de contribuer à une mauvaise évaluation des risques. Cette caractéristique pourrait renforcer les effets de la réglementation prudentielle bancaire. Ainsi, l'impact de Bâle III sur le financement bancaire des PME françaises semble accentué par la distance. Les estimations du modèle 3SLS tendent à démontrer que la distance pourrait affecter le NSFR et le ratio de levier réglementaire. Le ratio de solvabilité ne semble pas impacté. Au final, l'introduction de Bâle III pourrait pousser les banques à réarranger leurs portefeuilles en fonction d'arbitrages entre le risque, la rentabilité et les exigences réglementaires.
