Abstract

Depuis 2008, la Banque centrale européenne (BCE) a sensiblement modifié sa politique de collatéral, c'est-à-dire la qualité des actifs qu'elle exige d'une banque commerciale en garantie du prêt qu'elle lui octroie ainsi que la décote qu'elle applique sur la valeur de cet actif en cas de défaut de la contrepartie. Les modifications de cette politique ont eu potentiellement des répercussions sur le risque pris par la BCE en même temps qu'elles ont facilité l'accès des banques commerciales à la liquidité. Une note récente, dont nous résumons quelques éléments ci-dessous, fait le point sur cette politique et sur ses enjeux. [Premier paragraphe]
