Abstract

Après le vote en faveur du Brexit, ou encore face aux divergences économiques et politiques, le projet européen se porte mal. Répondre aux difficultés économiques de la construction européenne demande aujourd'hui de concilier deux temporalités. La première est le temps long de l'analyse afin de bien comprendre les causes des divergences européennes, entre les niveaux de vie ou le rapport à la démocratie par exemple. La seconde est le temps court de la politique et des actions à mener pour stabiliser et compléter l'union économique et monétaire. 2Ce numéro de la Revue de l'OFCE se situe à l'intersection de ces deux temporalités ; les analyses et les propositions développées ont une spécificité qui en fait son intérêt : une focale large. En effet, les 23 articles couvrent les principales questions qui animent aujourd'hui le débat européen : la politique monétaire et l'instabilité financière, les choix budgétaires, l'équilibre démocratique, la stabilité du système bancaire ou encore la convergence des marchés du travail, par exemple.
