Abstract

Le photovoltaïque et l'éolien deviennent compétitifs par rapport aux sources conventionnelles. Mais cela ne suffira pas pour décarboner rapidement le mix électrique. L'ampleur de la baisse des coûts des énergies renouvelables est spectaculaire et ce mouvement devrait se poursuivre au cours de la prochaine décennie. Le coût de production actualisé de l'électricité* issue de centrales photovoltaïques au sol est passé de 358 $/MWh en 2009 à 45 $/MWh en 2017. Quant à l'éolien terrestre, il a été réduit de 135 $/MWh en 2009 à 49 $/MWh en 2017 (voir graphique). Cette tendance se confirme avec la baisse rapide des prix des enchères sur le coût de l'électricité produite (voir encadré page 94). Ils ont récemment atteint des niveaux particulièrement bas, notamment aux Emirats arabes unis, en Arabie Saoudite, au Mexique et au Chili. Le record est actuellement détenu par le Mexique, où une grande vente aux enchères d'électricité solaire organisée en novembre 2017 a été remportée par l'italien Enel avec une offre de 17,7 $ le MWh - détrônant ainsi les 17,9 $ atteints quelques mois plus tôt en Arabie Saoudite
