Abstract

La chute du prix du brent entre l'été 2014 et février 2015 et son maintien à un bas niveau au cours des mois suivants sont une bonne nouvelle pour les économies importatrices de pétrole. Dans un contexte de faible croissance, cela se traduit par un transfert de richesse au bénéfice des pays importateurs nets via la balance commerciale, ce qui stimule la croissance et alimente la reprise. Ce soutien s'accompagne d'un risque pour l'environnement, un prix du pétrole plus faible pouvant ralentir la transition énergétique et la réduction des émissions de gaz à effet de serre (GES).
