Abstract

La France serait le seul des grands pays d'Europe à avoir un taux de chômage élevé, une croissance faible et une dette abyssale. Nous serions les seuls à avoir conservé un Code du travail lourd et rigide, un modèle social affreusement coûteux, et à ne pas encore avoir mené les réformes permettant de nous adapter à la fois à la mondialisation et à la révolution technologique. Cette vision est radicalement fausse. Incapables de gérer correctement les dysfonctionnements du capitalisme financier, les pays européens ont imposé des mesures d'austérité qui ont aggravé les inégalités de manière inacceptable et accru la vulnérabilité de tous les systèmes. Malgré les coups de trompette macroniens annonçant l'entrée dans un Nouveau Monde, ce sont en réalité les mêmes politiques qui sont aujourd'hui poursuivies. Il nous faut rompre avec elles. Un autre projet est possible. Il est urgent de le mettre en œuvre. Conjuguant trois disciplines – économie, droit, sociologie – et mobilisant les études les plus récentes, ce livre réfute les explications simplistes, propose un diagnostic puissant et dessine une autre voie.
