Abstract

Cet ouvrage montre comment les territoires peuvent devenir le cœur de la nécessaire transition vers le bien-être, la résilience et la soutenabilité. L'auteur explore le « moment territorial » que nous vivons, qui résulte autant de la mondialisation que de l'urbanisation puis explique comment le territoire, entendu comme institution social-écologique, peut devenir l'écosystème par excellence de la transition. Mais ce moment territorial est lourd d'une menace : l'aggravation des inégalités sociales. C'est l'avertissement sérieux des scrutins récents au Royaume-Uni, aux États-Unis mais aussi en France : à ne plus vivre dans le même espace, on ne vit plus dans la même époque, à ne plus partager le même territoire, on ne partage plus la même cité. C'est pourquoi la question de la justice territoriale est indissociable de celle de la transition social-écologique.C'est à l'horizon de chaque territoire que la transition social-écologique doit être envisagée, mais c'est dans l'égalité des territoires qu'elle doit être menée à bien.
