Abstract

Le taux de chômage des titulaires de doctorat (les docteurs) est élevé en France, que ce soit par rapport aux autres catégories de diplômés ou comparativement à celui des docteurs dans d'autres pays. Il faut toutefois noter qu'il varie fortement d'une discipline à l'autre. Le taux de chômage des docteurs en mécanique, électronique, informatique et sciences de l'ingénieur est faible et proche de celui des diplômés d'écoles d'ingénieurs (autour de 4 %). Par contre, celui des jeunes docteurs en chimie, lettres et sciences humaines est trois fois plus élevé.
